 About the Role 

The Kitchen Assistant Supervisor (or Food Services Assistant Coordinator) is a new role to Mercy Hospital and will be responsible for coordinating and assisting the food service team to deliver an efficient and timely Food and Beverage service to patients, visitors and staff.

This role is offered on a permanent, 40 hours per week basis to be worked on a 3 week rotating roster with 1 in 3 Saturdays and no spilt shifts. A mixture of early shifts 6.15 to 14.45 or late shifts 11.45 – 20.15.

The successful applicant must have previous leadership experience. 

Specific duties include: 

  • Roster Management to ensure productive standards are met
  • To ensure best practise standards are achieved in all areas
  • To work with the Team Leader to ensure a cycle of continuous quality improvements
  • To nurture an inclusive culture of mutual respect and collaboration, supporting wellbeing
  • To identify long term process solutions in collaboration with the Team Leader 
  • On the floor coordination of the day to day operation.

Skills and Experience:

  • At least 2 years’ coordinating or leadership experience in a food service role
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills 
  • Ability to lead by example 
  • Enthusiasm and a proactive, flexible attitude.
